Beckfield College - Career Services Review from Spring Hill, Florida

Not a real school. My son graduated from the Business school. Career services offered to send him to an interview for janitor service. He was on the Deans list and Presidents list. What a joke

All these Students need to get together and file a class Action Against The School. When Kaplan College ran the Scam, students from the HIM program got together, and if you look around.

Kaplan isn't in the Cincinnati, Ohio area anymore. The Students got the loans erased and all the payments they made were returned by the school. People need to stand up and take action. I have to remain anonymous because I was one of the people who helped the Kaplan students get their money back.

These Colleges leave unsuspecting people with Loans, they can't pay back. Also, they target a certain population.

United you all can get some changes made. Contact some of your classmates and others, rise up.

Beckfield College is a waste of money

My fiance is a hard working student. For the first year she held a 4.0 GPA and was top in her class every semester. They started a new nursing program and she decided to take that path. The class is filled with drama causing hood rats that disrupt class and cause trouble. The faculty and staff refuse to do anything about this and do not care that hard working students are paying for it. 20,000 dollars will be wasted. If your a hardworking person seeking a genuine education, avoid this school and the ghetto trash that attend it.

Someone shows that they prefer high standards and gets accused of racism. LOL

I'm sure the person saying "Get over it" is attending on some government funded free ride.

Guest

@beckfieldgarbage:

Your nickname clearly describes you perfectly.

Here's how the sentence should look, by the way (Do they have a remedial program there?):

"No, his statement is true! I'm here now, and the same 'hood rats' exist. Get over it."

Guest

No his statement is true! I'm here now an it's the same hood rats exsist get over it

Guest

With words like "hood rats" and "ghetto trash" this "opinion" is obviously racist and has no place on a public forum.

Words like "hood rat" and ghetto trash" is not and obvious racist remark. Clearly, you view those categories as black? Unfortunately, there are people that have no class or professionalism; etiquette or consideration for others in the program.

Beckfield College

They have the gall to say that they got me my position as a paralegal. Nothing could be farther then the truth. I got the position on my own and without help from Beckfield College placement. In fact I had to find my own legal externship Beckfield didn't help me with that. And I'm not the only one that this happened to.And I paid tuition for the so called externship. I felt that they were cold callous and uncaring and that the only thing that mattered was the tuition money. When I had trouble at where I extern at Beckfield didn't lift a finger to help.I had to find another externship on my own.

Kayla,

"Tons of Lawsuits" really? I challenge you to name one non-traditional, for-profit career college in Kentucky that DOES NOT have a lawsuit against them currently - Look that up!

It seems when students fail in a Career College they jump on the badwagon to sue for a quick payday! It is a fairly widespread trend in Kentucky these days. Were you a Beckfield Student?

Are you just on here to join the smear campaign against Beckfield? And, how many lawsuits are "a ton" exactly?

Sadly, the school's graduation rate is below 50% which is not good. Its not likely people are not here for a smear campaign.

Quite possible that there are some that were not satisfied with the program. I appreciate the comments provided and its not that difficult to *** out those that simply have the wrong intention. Many times its up to the student to make the best of a program. There will always be a chance to endure a weakness in a program, an instructor that could be better or shouldn't be in position whatsoever.

It's possible to enter a program and its all about money. Wake up people its a business so it is all about money.

Its a business that is offering a road to your goal. Regain your focus if you are not happy and find your way through it.

Guest

This school is nothing but money hungry! They have tons of lawsuits on them.. Just look it up!!

Sandy Rmp

Beckfield has to be a better quality Career college than Brown Mackie College, National College, Southwestern College (now Lincoln School of Technology), Kaplan, Miami Jacobs and Antonelli!

I see way more negative comments (with specific examples) about these schools than about Beckfield. Just a FYI from a HAPPY CONSUMER

:grin

Aren't all businesses (including state funded colleges) required to make some profit? Otherwize they would be a charity!

What's wrong with getting a job on your own?

when you sign on a dotted line do you read what you are signing and ask questions?

Are you capable of doing your own salary research? :cry

Guest

How much cryin about a choice you made do you expect the public to endure. It's all subjective anyway - your opinion is yours.

I have found in my many years of public service that those who complain the loudest about their choices, blaming everyone and everything but themselves - these individuals typically have deep mental and social issues. Here's a tissue for your issue - stop being a hater!

Did you even go there?

Guest

I graduated from Beckfield. The only thing these people care about is money and they will lie to get you to sign on the dotted line.

They market that they have job placement but do little to help. Even though it says in their handbook that they keep records of where they send your resume they do not if they even try at all. If you get a job on your own and no help from them they still count that as job placement. They will tell you that you can make a certain amount in a job and it is not true.

They will even later tell you they did not tell you about wages at all. And good luck reporting them to the BBB.

No matter it will still be listed as case closed. I wouldn't recommend that anybody go to any for-profit school especially Beckfield.

Beckfield College Placement Rates

It seems that Beckfield can not release information on where paralegals obtain employment due to federal privacy laws. But it seems from their reponse they hid under those same laws.

How do they (Beckfield) determine they have had a 91% placement rate. How many graduates did they graduate in 2008-****? and what about 2009-****?

Kinda wanting it both ways sounds more like CYA to keep their jobs and keep the coming in to fill the chairs. Do they consider if you just get any job after graduation that they are placed or working part time? Thanks for speaking out CaveatEmptor

this college lies takes your money while you think your credits will transfer and changes the courses and makes you adapt one person I know was thrown out because they changed it. Also there is a major class action lawsuit going on with quite a few people they have screwed over.Go to a community college dont waste your money they robb people every day and will pay for it soon!

Carl Icv

Do any of you people that post negative comments about your experiences find happiness and satisfaction in anything?

Guest

Beckfield College had a 85.7% Job placement rate in the 2009-**** Academic year. Their Retention Rate in 2010 was 70%.

What were these rates at NKU, UC, EKU, Xavier, Cincinnati state, Gateway, etc?

Oh, I'm sorry these schools do not have job placement and their retention rates are horrid! Do not knock Career Colleges they work for those who work it!

Beckfield College

Caveat Emptor.... Remember that Beckfield College is a for PROFIT college. The admissions people tell you what you want to hear. Borders on deceptive practices. They quote placement rates for 2007-**** but are reluctant to tell you of 2008-**** and 2009-**** placement rates.Beckfield is not ABA accredited as of March 2010.The paralegal program is good for the most part.To succeed prepare for class don't expect to be spoon fed. Career placement is a joke. They too are evasive as to how many graduates they place. The care ends when the tuition payments stop.Ask to speak with at least 5-10 alumni of the program so as you can make the decision as to whether Beckfield is right for you.If they refuse to let you speak with alumni run as fast as you can away from them.

"Thanks for putting me in debt," she says.

So, Beckfield signed on the promissory note in your stead? Or was it you?

That answer is important, because whoever it was who did that was the party that put you in debt.

Guest

As a happy Business Major at Beckfield College, I can see your points.

@ exbeckfieldstudent - looks like your English teacher was horrible by your writing and depending on when you stopped going to school and how you did or did not complete a withdraw process - this will affect how much of your loan money a school can keep. Just because you stopped going doesn't mean you do not have to pay for the remainder of your term.

@Sandy - some students are pathetic - they think that just because they "pay for school" that they can get by with no effort and failing grades (I have some in my classes).@Renay - some students lie to get into college - they say they are ready to work hard and do what it takes to be successful, then they renig - I hear flunkies complain about the school all the time but very rarely do those with passing grades complain. Peace Out!

Guest

i agree that you get out of it what you put into it 95% of the time, however there are teachers there that shouldnt be teacher period, they to decieve you, they took money out of my loan after i told them i would not be attending any more and now i owe it even though i was not a student there at that time, i am very interested in this law suit that is going on and i would like to be apart of it. if anything they should pay back the loan money that i used while i was a student there and for the time i had already withdrawn.

I am in so much debt now because of this school that i have no intrest in adding to it to even finish my degree from another school.

Thanks beckfield for putting me in debt. P.S you really need to research your teachers before you hire them because alot of them have no clue what they are talking about

Guest

this school is pathedic!!! beware

Guest

they took me for sooo much money and lied to me countless times111

I am unhappy with Beckfield College.

I am also unhappy with the fast food I eat - it makes me fat.

I am unhappy with cigarettes that I smoke - they are giving me cancer.

I am unhappy with the used Hyundai I bought - it is a lemon.

I am also unhappy with God - I am getting older and I do not like it.

Maybe I should file a lawsuit based on my unhappiness with every choice I have nade with my life.

Carl Icv

You just can't please everybody all the time! 15% of us are unhappy with everything we buy no matter how high the quality. It is unrealistic to think that any experience that involves the exchange of money (or debt) for goods and or services is always going to be a positive one!

Guest

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, be it based in fact or anger over not being successful. Numbers do not lie.

Like many for-profit, private, non-traditional colleges, Beckfield is held to standards established for Accredited Approved Schools. Retention Rates, Job Placement Rates, Nursing Licesure Exam pass rates are all verifiable and Beckfield's are stellar. A few bad apples DO NOT spoil the bunch! Beckfield has been working towards ABA (American Bar Association) approval for many years (it takes quite a few years to get ABA approval - it is a long and tedious process.

ABA approval is soon to be in place. Call yourselves a WHAAmbulance and get a ride to losertown - you are not a successful college student - there's always trade school for cry babys and under developed minds.

Beckfield College Paralegal Program

Be careful... be very careful. Admissions people at Beckfield are the best car sales people in the world.Beckfield is for profit..... The care ends when the tuition payments cease. The staff are Career placement are what is best described as inempt and full of ----.Paralegal faculty are good.It is like any where else. You have great you have good and you have those attorneys who are there solely to ad to their income.Internship placement is poor.Kinda like take it or leave it.Most students end up finding their own placement.Beckfield stills charges you for it though.Ask admissions to furnish you with at least five or so graduates and speak with those graduates prior to making a decision as to go to Beckfield or not. If admissions will noy provide you with the names and numbers and email addresses of alumni run away........................

The firm I work for has hired para legals educated at Beckfield College over the years and they have been very competent and successful with their careers. Do not believe everything your hear (or read).

Guest

somebody call a WHAAAMBULANCE!

More losers cryin over thier choices - after they have made them!

Guest

For every unhappy "former" Beckfield Student who did not complete their program there are happy hundreds who did. For every graduate of Beckfield College who is slinging mud at the school there 3 times as many who defend it.

I think the same percentages ring true in life and all it's varied experiences.

There is a minority population in every group of consumers who are not happy with their purchase no matter what. The Good reputation that Beckfield College has cultivated over the last 27 years far outweighs the minority of bad.

Guest

The schools job ads for admissions even calls them salesman at Beckfield. They are slick.

They do not tell the truth. The school administrators are not a bit truthful. Beckfield does not have a good reputation either as a paralegal. I was a student there and I have heard of law firms who said they would never hire anyone that went to Beckfield again because they were unprepared.

Do yourself a favor. Go to a real college where they have teachers that actually graduated from the school.

Guest

It seems that beckfield in staing federal privacy laws can not release information as to where graduates are working but use those same federal laws to CYA in coming up with the 91% placement rate.Kinda using the federal law both ways...
